Up bright and early, well maybe not bright but certainly early. Off to London to show off our Ghost Furniture to a VIP list of Press, Bloggers and Celebrities at The Deco Affair. Checked the traffic reports and the M1 is shut Southbound. Changed route to A1 which will be hugely busy now.
I am looking forward to hopefully meeting Melanie Porter and
Zoe Murphy both like minded people. I have no idea who else I will meet but I will let you know on my return. If you are a Blogger and are attending please come and say hello.

Fine Cell Network - A Fine Idea
If you are in London for Design Week then go over to The Dock in Notting Hill, Tom Dixon's place and see some works by Fine Cell Network. Also there will be, as part of Multiplex at The Dock for London Design Festival, a stitching workshop which is hosted by Fine Cell Work with Karl, an ex offender who spent time at HMP Bullingdon. They emailed me with the info and I was just blown away by the work that prisoners in jails all over the UK have created helped by many influential designers.
What a fabulous idea, you can even sit on Boris if you so wish.
Classical designs,
fabulous embroidery,
commissioned pieces and even
Swag Bags to take it all away, however you will have to pay for them. A fabulous and beautiful way to rehabilitate prisoners and stop them re-offending.

Off To London Again
Well I am off down to London again today to pick up my Ghost Furniture pieces from the Pop Up Shop - The Revenous Belle & Don in Spitalfields. It's the last day today so if you haven't visited yet - GO. I and some of the other designers are offering 10% off everything just for today and between 6 and 8pm there are free drinks and a chance to meet the designers.

The Folly
This is the sort of place I would like to kick of my shoes after a shopping trip. The Folly has opened in East London and seems to have put much thought into the layout.
Great signage
Comfortable seating
Fresh fruit and veg
Quirky rest areas and
anyone who would present my menu on a clothes peg gets my vote.

Northumberland Goes To London - RE at Liberty
I was invited by Liberty to attend the launch of their new Dining Room and the announcement of the RE Satellite Store in their famous London shop. For personal reasons I could not attend but those lovely people sent me a gorgeous Goodie Bag (a Liberty Goodie Bag, no less). Before I go any further let me say that the people at Liberty are some the friendliest people I have ever come in contact with. Liberty seems a fun place to work if their attitude is anything to go by. I digress.
If you have never heard of RE then you must have been living under a rock. RE is situated not far from my home in Northumberland so I have the huge advantage of going there whenever the fancy takes me. Simon & Jenny, the owners, have turned this old workshop into an Aladdin's cave and now they are taking their magic to Liberty in London. On 6th April you Southerners can get a taste of RE and you will not be disappointed believe me.
